Chromosonia
09 | 2011Gesture Controlled Book Reader
01 | 2011A gesture controlled book reader was built for E8 Labs. Simple multitouch gestures like flipping, zooming and panning can be used in the air to control the book view.
Two versions were developed, the first one was written in fluxus, Community Core Vision and an IR camera was used for tracking. It was a bit sensitive to environmental light, so a new version was developed with the Microsoft Kinect camera, which was just released at the end of 2010.

03 | 2008Nothing There
02 | 2008Nothing There is a dance performance utilizing real-time computer technology created in collaboration with The Symptomps dance troupe. The central theme of the performance is the clash between the reality principle and the truth principle. The anxiety generated by this conflict stays with us through our lives, poisoning our days in the guise of reality. It’s as if this paranoia were intended to force us to vest with meaning the random events of an ill-comprehended world and perceive the chaotic reality surrounding us as a subject-centric system that makes sense.
Reverse Shadow Theatre
01 | 2008Reverse Shadow Theatre is an installation created with the Animata real-time animation editor.
Wayang Kulit is the indonesian shadow puppet theatre, in which finely carved and painted leather puppets move behind a screen making the audiance see their shadows only. In our installation the situation is reversed. The role of the elaborate puppets is emphasized, while the visitor is a mere shadow trying to control the puppets by her movements.
Animata
09 | 2007Animata is a real-time animation software, designed to create interactive background projections for concerts, theatre and dance performances, and promotional screenings.
The peculiarity of the software is that the animation – the movement of the puppets, the changes of the background – is generated in real-time, making continuous interaction possible.
V45
08 | 2007Nextlab, Szövetség 39 and Be Light Ltd. realised the architects' vision of a reactive facade. We have developed our own lighting system with new solutions in form, aesthetics and technology. The lighting panels visually unite the two wings of the facade with different characteristics. Furthermore, the software-operated lights react to the noise level of the road creating a sound-responsive artwork governed by environmental effects.
Verba | Signa Popularia
04 | 2007Verba | Signa Popularia is a new media art installation for the Corvinus Univerity of Budapest, Hungary consisting a two storey high LED display visualising the e-mail flow of the university.
The continuously changing e-mail archive is processed using artificial intelligence technologies and language analysis. The collected information is depicted with special tools like the self-organizing map (SOM) and other visualisation applications to create and display a content-based dynamic visual map on the walls of the building.
