Gesture Controlled Book Reader
A gesture controlled book reader was built for E8 Labs. Simple multitouch gestures like flipping, zooming and panning can be used in the air to control the book view.
Two versions were developed, the first one was written in fluxus, Community Core Vision and an IR camera was used for tracking. It was a bit sensitive to environmental light, so a new version was developed with the Microsoft Kinect camera, which was just released at the end of 2010.
The second version of the software was developed in C++ with Cinder and the tracking was also implemented in the software using OpenCV.
