Reverse Shadow Theatre is an installation created with the Animata real-time animation editor.

Wayang Kulit is the indonesian shadow puppet theatre, in which finely carved and painted leather puppets move behind a screen making the audiance see their shadows only. In our installation the situation is reversed. The role of the elaborate puppets is emphasized, while the visitor is a mere shadow trying to control the puppets by her movements.

Printing press and the spread of books made the acquisition of knowledge available to anyone. Marshall McLuhan's term, the Gutenberg galaxy, refers to a period of cultural history, in which the book as an information provider plays a significant role. Because of the development of new knowledge acquisition methods by means of the development of information technology, television and the Internet, sooner or later we reach an era when printed matter is no longer necessary.

The computer is a programmable machine that can store, retrieve, and process data. It is also a metamachine, a machine for creating virtual machines. Each time one starts a program on a computer, it is turned into a different virtual machine following different rules. These rules, a series of actions define a process. The generated machine language rules set into motion resulting in a completed piece of software, a virtual machine.

Fractal Cow

The Fractal Cow projects the contradictory vision of contemporary architecture that fractal spaces of nature are being replaced by the artificial fractal spaces of our society.

The conditions of our world's interconnected, hyperactive and dense space can be explored as we perceive it, with its inherent fractal dimensions and qualities exceeding the Cartesian concept of space that has dominated architecture and sculpture.

The underlying structure and labyrinthine networks of the city's architecture are artificial representations of the forms of nature and threaten to obliterate natural environments and vegetation at the same time.
